Today, Eric shares his recently concluded safety inspection in one of his properties in Gulf Shores and how does the new safety regulatory rules are changing and affecting the VR industry.
Since January 2022, the new city ordinance requires the industry to have:
- single or multiple fire detection alarm in the property
- Carbon monoxide (CO) detection installed of each sleeping area/ outside on every bedroom
While the previous safety inspections are done quickly, the latest inspections are very detailed and were conducted by competent and qualified professionals.
He also shares that building a rapport with the inspectors and concerned agencies can play a vital role in promoting safer Vacation Rental properties by being able to discuss safety concerns and provide professional support.
