Recent Safety Regulatory Rules and Changes in the Gulf Shores

Welcome  back to another episode of Safer VRS podcast.

Today, Eric shares his recently concluded safety inspection in one of his properties in Gulf Shores and how does the new safety regulatory rules are changing and affecting  the VR industry.

Since January 2022, the new city ordinance requires the industry to  have:

  1. single or multiple fire detection alarm in  the property
  2. Carbon monoxide (CO) detection installed of each sleeping area/ outside on every bedroom

While the previous safety inspections are done quickly, the latest inspections are very detailed and were conducted by competent and qualified professionals.

He also shares that building a rapport with the  inspectors and concerned agencies can play a vital role in promoting safer Vacation Rental properties by being able to discuss safety concerns and provide professional support.

To guide you with your next safety inspection, here are the few things that were thoroughly inspected in Eric’s properties:

-Sprinkler system

-Exterior of the building
