Competition Isn't As Important As We Think It Is
Competition is a very fickle idea. It’s something that can play on our minds and make us feel like if we aren’t doing what someone else is doing, then we’re falling behind.
Today’s episode talks about debunking the idea that competition is one way to be successful in business and life. More often than not, it can be overrated. Most of the time we shouldn’t even be worried about minding others’ business around us – we should be focused on our own business.
Eric advises that one of the best ways to stand out from the business is instead of focusing on what others are doing, you should spend your energy by competing against yourself. Focusing on improving your services to drive innovation which eventually increases your value. You must value the value you create. And If you believe the value of your services, you don’t need to lower the value.
That's how you'll succeed in the long run — not with what other people are doing, but with what you can do to satisfy your customers and build within the premise of who you are BEing.
